Thessaloniki Museum of Photography

Founded in 1987 in Thessaloniki, the Greek Museum of Photography, first created a photo gallery while putting the first foundation for establishing a museum of contemporary photography. Since December 2001 the Museum of Photography has been located on the first floor of Warehouses A' at the Port of Thessaloniki. The Museum of Cinema, mentioned above, is housed in the same building on the ground floor.The Museum of Photography, is a living place of memory, encounter and discovery, not only with the close spatial dimension, but also as a place of reflection and dialogue among artists, their works and the public. An institution open to development, which seeks to acquire, retain, investigate and present projects aimed at the preservation of cultural heritage, promotion of contemporary creation, but also the growth of the public.
